Elizabeth Allen

Elizabeth Allen is a Registered Nurse and Midwife and has been employed as a clinical nurse consultant in diabetes for the past 16 years. She has worked in a variety of environments including, acute, subacute, aged care and HARP. Previously, she was the general manager of a growing community health service in the Yarra Valley. Liz is currently employed in a dual role, as the early intervention team leader at Peninsula Health in the community health sector, and clinically as a clinical nurse consultant. She runs the Desmond Type 2 and DAFNE Type 1 programs, as well as providing individual consultations to clients. Together with a team of allied health practitioners at Peninsula Health, Liz also runs the diabetes prevention program LIFE. Her speciality is obesity management in the presence of other chronic diseases.
