Elizabeth A. Poynor MD, PhD, FACOG, PLLC

Elizabeth Poynor, MD, PhD, FACOG is an experienced gynecologic oncologist and advanced pelvic surgeon. After completing advanced surgical training in gynecology, gynecologic oncology and advanced pelvic surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center she developed and maintained a successful surgical practice there for more than a decade. In July of 2006, after amassing a vast experience in radical pelvic and minimally invasive pelvic surgery, Dr. Poynor established her solo private practice in gynecologic oncology and pelvic surgery in Manhattan. This move was made in order to provide her patients with leading edge, top quality care in a patient centric, non institutional, calm and compassionate fashion. She was noted in 2007 - 2013 to be a Castle Connolly Guide Top Doctor for the New York Metro Area for gynecologic oncology, a New York Magazine, Castle Connolly Top Doctor in New York in 2009 - 2013 for Gynecologic Oncology, and is also listed in the Best Doctors in America. Dr. Poynor has been a leader in the field of gynecology and gynecologic surgery. She was the first gynecologic surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital to employ robotic surgery, and maintains a high surgical volume of robotic surgery cases.

Dr. Poynor has co-authored numerous publications on topics in gynecology and gynecologic oncology, and has lectured nationally, internationally and through the national media. Dr. Poynor is a respected and sought after source for the popular press and has been quoted in numerous national publications. She has appeared numerous times as an expert for CBS, Good Morning America, Fox, MSNBC, the Today Show, and Dr. Oz. She serves on multiple boards relating to women’s health including Women’s Voices for Change, TEAL, Five under Forty, and Sharsheret. She is a frequent commentator for online health publications.
