Dr. Wladis is chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Albany Medical College and Chief of Service for Ophthalmology. As an ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon with Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery, PLLC, Dr. Wladis is trained to diagnose, treat, and manage diseases or trauma of the eye, and he has a special interest in the treatment of eyelid, orbital, and lacrimal disease, including functional, rehabilitative, and cosmetic surgical interventions.
Dr. Wladis was fellowship trained in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Pennsylvania’s Scheie Eye Institute. He completed his residency at New Jersey Medical School’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York, Syracuse.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Wladis was inducted into the American Ophthalmological Society, representing an honor bestowed to only roughly 300 academic ophthalmic surgeons throughout the world. He has published widely on a variety of topics in oculoplastic surgery and frequently lectures at both national meetings and as an invited speaker at other medical colleges.
