Edward Kim, MD, is Director of Interventional Oncology and Assistant Professor of Radiology and Surgery in the Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. After completing medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in 2001, he did his residency at Nassau University Medical Center and completed his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He subsequently joined the division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Kim lectures around the country on various subjects in the field of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, including chemoembolization, Y90 radioembolization, radiofrequency ablation, GPS navigation guidance for percutaneous procedures, biliary interventions and the endovascular management of endoleaks. Dr. Kim’s interests are with the growing subspecialty of interventional oncology and is the principal investigator on various trials involving drug-eluting beads for chemoembolization, as well as radioembolization. He is also a pioneer in the use of image-guided interventions, particularly with regards to GPS and fusion techniques to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
