Eduardo Sprinz MD, PhD

Eduardo Sprinz is a Consultant at the Hospital of Clinics of Porto Alegre. He is graduated in Medicine from Universidade Federal do the Rio Grande do Sul with; master's degree in Medical Sciences from the same university studying Kaposi’s sarcoma and AIDS. ScD degree at the same course and university investigating pharmacology, Kaposi’s sarcoma, and HIV infection.

He has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and books. Currently is professor of medicine at the School of Medicine in Universidade Federal do the Rio Grande do Sul. Infectious diseases are the major field of interest. Has several clinical trials studying antimicrobials, antivirals, and antiretrovirals. His main focus now is issues related to HIV infection and complications associated with this human infection and COVID-19.
