Edith A. Perez, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, the Director of the Breast Cancer Translational Genomics Program, and a Supplemental Consultant at the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine and Department of Cancer Biology, Mayo Clinic. Dr. Perez held positions at various professional organizations including the American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the National Cancer Institute. She also held leadership positions at Genentech/Roche.

Dr. Perez has authored more than 700 research articles in journals, books, and abstracts and has lectured at several national and international meetings. Dr. Perez serves on the editorial board of multiple academic journals. Her research interests include breast cancer, translational clinical trials, evaluation of genetic markers as predictors for breast cancer development and for breast cancer aggressiveness.

Dr. Perez is also an active member of cancer community groups. She is part of the Cancer Centers of Excellence Development Committee of the State of Florida, a professional advisory board member of the ibreast.org, and trustee and medical advisor of The Donna Foundation.
