Dr. Edie Zusman is a board-certified practicing neurosurgeon who began her medical training at the age of 19 in the Northwestern Honors Medical Program. She is recognized nationally for both her neurosurgical skills and her expertise in health systems.

After completing a residency at UC Davis, in Sacramento California, fellowship training at UCSF, and practicing neurosurgery for more than a decade, Dr. Zusman completed her MBA at George Washington University. She is widely acknowledged as an expert on the impact of the Affordable Care Act of 2010 on physicians and health systems. She writes and lectures on health care forecasting and the impact of vertically integrated Accountable Care Organizations.

Prior to accepting her current position as Medical Director for the Sutter Health East Bay Neuroscience Institute at Eden Medical Center, Edie was on faculty at UC Davis in Sacramento, California where she led the Brain Tumor and Epilepsy Programs and was named Physician of the Year. As Medical Director for Sutter Sacramento, Edie leads her program to be ranked among America’s Best Hospitals in Neurology and Neurosurgery by US News & World Report in 2007 and 2008.

She has served on the Boards of the California Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
