Edgar Ventosa PhD

Edgar Ventosa is a senior researcher at the Ruhr-University-Bochum. He received his chemistry diploma at the University of Burgos where he continued to obtain his Ph.D. in 2009 under the supervision of Jesus Palacios. During his PhD, he spent several months in Patrick Unwin´s group (Warwick, UK) as research visitor in 2007 and 2008. After completing his PhD, he moved to the Analytical Chemistry Department of Ruhr-Universität-Bochum as postdoc in Wolfgang Schuhmann´s group. In 2011, he returned to Spain to work as project manager at Technology Center Miranda de Ebro, coming back to Ruhr-Universität Bochum in 2012. His current research interests lie in electrochemical energy storage, focusing on next generation Li-ion battery materials and bi-functional catalysts for Zn-Air batteries.
