Eddy Albarran is a Ph.D. candidate in the Neurosciences Program at Stanford University. His research combines 2-photon microscopy, acute slice physiology, and murine behavior training to explore mechanisms underlying the experience-dependent plasticity of motor circuits. Specifically, he investigates how neuron-astrocyte interactions and endocannabinoid signaling regulate circuit changes in the motor cortex and the striatum during motor learning and motor disorders. Outside of the lab, Eddy is committed to various student initiatives and organizations aimed at increasing diversity in academia, with future plans of combining his passions for science, teaching, and advocacy as a research professor.
