Ecoee Rooney DNP, RN-BC, SANE-A

Ecoee Rooney serves as the Continuing Education Manager, working, leading Educational initiatives, and administering the Association’s ANCC Provider and Approver Units. Dr. Rooney has worked in Nursing Professional Development since 2002, in nursing leadership since 2004. She worked with victims of crime from 2000-2013 in the role of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (Adult/Adolescent), with victims of trauma since 1999 as an Emergency Department Nurse, and with people with disabilities from 1996-2009. She is board certified in Nursing Professional Development and as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner-Adult/Adolescent.

Dr. Rooney served as the Chair for the Rape Crisis Network of New Orleans from 2005 - 2007 and was instrumental in serving to reconnect and rebuild sexual assault forensic services and networks in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. She has been a member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses since 2000 and has served in numerous roles supporting the organization such as Awards Committee member, Disaster Planning Task Force, Awards Committee Chair, webinar presenter, and consultant.
