Dr. Ebony Hoskins is a native of Muskegon, Michigan. At a young age she determined she wanted to pursue a career in medicine. She also wanted to attend a historically black college and university, so she traveled to New Orleans to attend Xavier University of Louisiana. After completion of her chemistry degree at Xavier, she attended Wayne State University School of Medicine where she developed an interest in the field of gynecologic oncology. She completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at St. Joseph-Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She then completed a Cancer Research Training Award (CRTA) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Hoskins studied the molecular mechanisms behind the malignant potential of ovarian cancer cells. After her two year dedication at the NCI, Dr. Hoskins completed a Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at Magee Women's Hospital of UPMC Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
