Dustin A. Carlson is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His clinical and research work focuses on esophageal disorders, gastrointestinal motility, and translational medicine. He is also affiliated with the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (NUCATS).

Dr. Carlson earned his MD in Medicine from the University of Wisconsin in 2009 and later completed an MS in Clinical Investigation at Northwestern University in 2015. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship training at Northwestern University’s McGaw Medical Center, where he specialized in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

He has contributed extensively to research on esophageal motility disorders, functional lumen imaging, and gastrointestinal diagnostics, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and funded research projects in digestive health and translational gastroenterology.
