Duncan Mcnab BSc, MBChB, PhD

Duncan is an Associate Adviser in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement at NHS Education Scotland. Part of this role involves developing and evaluating Quality Improvement techniques. He leads the Audit Development Group that peer review audits and significant event analysis. In addition, he is the primary care clinical lead for patient safety in Ayrshire and Arran.
This involves helping GP practices to implement changes recommended by the Scottish Patient Safety Programme, evaluating the impact of these changes and working to improve care at the primary/secondary care interface. Previously Duncan worked for seven years as an appraiser in primary care.
