Duane Hickling MD, MSCI, FRCSC

Dr. Duane Hickling has recently joined the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute as an Associate Scientist in the Chronic Disease Program. His research focuses on urinary tract infections and understanding how the body defends against these at the molecular level. Dr. Hickling is also a urologist at The Ottawa Hospital and Assistant Professor in the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. After obtaining his MD at Western University, he completed his residency training at The Ottawa Hospital/University of Ottawa and then went on to do a three-year combined clinical and research fellowship at New York University. There he trained in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, receiving a Master’s degree in Clinical Investigation – Translational Research
