Dr. Drew Yates is a consultant rheumatologist who completed a Bachelor of Engineering with honors in 2008, in addition to a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with honors in 2012 at the University of Queensland. He completed his basic physician training at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and completed Advanced Training in Rheumatology at The Townsville Hospital, The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and as chief medical registrar at the Mater Hospital, South Brisbane in 2019.
Dr. Yates has presented and published research in lupus nephritis and is currently a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland. He is a member of the Australian Rheumatology Association.
In addition to Brisbane Rheumatology, Dr. Yates is currently appointed as a staff specialist at the Redcliffe Hospital and has previously worked as a consultant rheumatologist at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and as a staff specialist at The Prince Charles Hospital. Dr. Yates has a particular interest in gout, rheumatoid arthritis, and spondyloarthropathies.
