Dr José-Bryant is a fully accredited , hospital-based Maxillo-Facial and Oral Surgeon registered as a Specialist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.


She is a Fellow of the College of Maxillo-Facial & Oral Surgeons of South Africa ( FCMFOS(SA) ) . The FCMFOS(SA) is awarded by the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa via multiple rigorous and nationally standardised examinations conducted over 4 years of full time Post-Grad training in an accredited Residency Program. The FCMFOS(SA ) is a prestigious qualification as it is awarded by the only national Specialist qualifying body, the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.


Dr. José-Bryant has been in private hospital practice since 2011. Her work spans the scope of Maxillo-Facial & Oral Surgery . She is an accomplished facial trauma surgeon and has managed many extreme cases especially in the polytrauma setting. Pathology diagnosis and management including surgical rehabilitation and reconstruction forms a great deal of Dr José-Bryant's work.

She additionally an postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine.

In 2013 she was accredited with completion of the International Curriculum in Oral Implantology by the German Society of Oral Implantology (DGOI)


As a surgical specialist of the facial region, Dr José-Bryant has a comprehensive working knowledge of facial anatomy and pathology as well as vast array of surgical skills. Having studied in detail soft and hard tissue facial harmony, proportion and aging, she has a distinct advantage in providing well reasoned, appropriate, clinically sound, multi-diciplinary, evidence based, care and strives to deliver the same when educating students and colleagues in what is a notoriously complex and complicated anatomical region.


Dr Josè-Bryant has a passion for the learning process and for teaching. She believes in patient advocacy and is a firm believer that medical ethics must inform and guide all aspects of patient care.

She is sensitive to the barriers to inclusion and access for women professionals in healthcare, in particular the inequities faced by women in surgery.

She is committed to making the discussion topical and highlighting its relevancy to anyone interested in optimal healthcare delivery.

She is a past executive committee member of SAFPSA (South African Facial Plastic Surgery Association).

She was a founding Board member of Cure Day Hospital and also served in a medical advisory capacity to the Board.

Dr José-Bryant has demonstable experience in health science education. She served as a lecturer and clinical supervisor at the University of the Witwaterand, School of Health Sciences for approximately 8 years, where she lectured and assessed students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.


She has presented at 9 academic meetings and congresses, locally and internationally as an invited speaker , and was named a key opinion leader in Aesthetic Medicine at the Aesthetic Medicine World Congress . She has also served on Scientific Committees of major national congresses.
