Dr. Richard Peter Haigh, PhD a Professor at the Global Disaster Resilience Centre, which is part of the School of Applied Sciences at the University of Huddersfield, UK. I am also Joint Editor of the International Journal of Disaster Resilience in the Built Environment and an academic advisor to the UNISDR Making Cities Resilient Campaign. I undertake research related to the application of disaster risk reduction in the built environment. My main research interests include the conceptual understanding of resilience, the reintegration and rehabilitation of conflict-affected communities in Sri Lanka, and corporate social responsibility in disaster risk reduction.
