Guadalupe Javier Cavazos Jr DPM, FACPM, MD

Dr. Cavazos was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Upon earning his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, he pursued his podiatric medical education at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Cavazos received his postgraduate residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he had extensive training in the management of the Diabetic Foot. Dr. Cavazos is Board Certified by ABPM and has served on the Board of Directors for the ACPMsince 2014. He currently holds the office of Vice President/President-Elect and is in line to become the first Mexican-American to hold the office of President for ACPM. In 2020, Dr. Cavazos was inducted into the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons(Glasg.) and appointed as a Fellow of the Faculty for the RCPS. After twenty-five years, Dr. Cavazos has now retired from private practice and will join the faculty of the UTRGV School of Podiatric Medicine.
