Douglas S. Burgoyne PharmD, FAMCP

Dr. Douglas S Burgoyne, PharmD, FACP, is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy in Salt Lake City, Utah. He received his doctor of pharmacy from Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy in Downers Grove, IL. Previously, he was the General Market Manager & Senior Vice President of Product Development at Magellan Rx Management. He was also the founder of Veridicus Health, a health and pharmacy benefits management company based in Salt Lake City, UT, and held many leadership positions at other national PBMs and at a regional integrated health plan.

Dr. Burgoyne’s responsibilities have included management of clinical pharmacy functions and programs, such as disease management, pharmacy, and therapeutics committee membership, prior-authorization guideline development, employer and employee education programs, therapeutic conversion, and generic substitution programs as well as implementing corporate disease management initiatives. Dr. Burgoyne is a member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and Global Respiratory Infection Partnership (GRIP) and is a reviewer for the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy. Dr. Burgoyne is Past President of AMCP (2012-2013) and a Fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (FAMCP).
