Douglas S. Ander is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine. Douglas grew up in Brooklyn, NY and completed his medical school training at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia.

He completed a combined Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit Michigan. During his career he has developed and taught numerous clinical skills programs. Recently his scholarly and educational efforts have focused on inter-professional teamwork education and simulation. Douglas also continues with bedside research studying the effects of literacy in emergency department heart failure patients. His current academic roles include Director of Undergraduate Education for Emergency Medicine, Assistant Dean for Medical Education and he directs the Emory Center for Experiential Learning, Emory’s clinical skills and simulation center.
