Douglas Green is the Chair of Cellular Immunology at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, USA. He received his Ph.D. from Yale University. His laboratory studies the process of apoptosis, or active cell death, and how it functions in the regulation of the immune system. His research extends from the role of apoptosis in the regulation of immune responses in the whole organism to the fundamental molecular events directing the death of the cell.
