Douglas Fish, PharmD, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy in Aurora, Colorado. Dr. Fish is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Additionally, he is a Clinical Specialist in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Units in the Department of Pharmacy Services at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. After earning his doctor of pharmacy degree at the University of California in San Francisco.
Dr. Fish completed a clinical pharmacy residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He then completed a specialty residency in infectious diseases at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he also fulfilled a two-year fellowship in infectious diseases/critical care. Dr. Fish has published more than 100 original research articles, review articles, and book chapters on the subjects of nosocomial infections and the use of antimicrobials. His research interests include antimicrobial pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, the use of antimicrobials in critically ill and immunocompromised patients, nosocomial infections, and antimicrobial resistance.
