Douglas Dunlop is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist practice in hip and knee disorders. His basic orthopaedic training was in Edinburgh and he obtained the fellowship of both the Edinburgh and English Royal College of Surgeons in 1994. He qualified as an orthopaedic surgeon in 2000 and was appointed as a consultant at Southampton University Hospitals in 2002.
Douglas has obtained specialist training in all aspects of hip and knee surgery and has been awarded and has completed the following fellowships:. . Clinical Fellowships:. Douglas Dunlop has over 30 publications and has contributed book chapters to several books on joint replacement. He is involved in research and was appointed as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Southampton University in 2004. His research interests include stem cell research and the use of novel materials in joint replacement surgery. He has won the following research fellowships:. .
