Doug A. Simonetto is a Transplant Hepatologist and Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. He serves as the Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Program and Co-Director of the Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. His research focuses on portal hypertension and alcohol-associated liver disease. In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Simonetto is active in research and education, providing mentorship to residents and subspecialty fellows. He is a federally funded investigator with a research program in Digital Hepatology. His program focuses on the development of innovative artificial intelligence-enabled tools for disease and outcome prediction in chronic liver diseases as well as clinical trials and translational research.
