Dr. Douglas McKeag is a family physician who is credited as being one of the founding fathers of primary care sports medicine. He is designated as a OneAmerica professor emeritus for family, sports, and preventive medicine at the University of Indiana, and is founding director of its Center for Sports Medicine.

Dr. McKeag currently serves as a medical consultant and is an accomplished author on a variety of medical and sports medicine topics. He recently completed co-authorship of the American Academy of Neurology’s comprehensive position statement on concussion. In addition, he serves as team physician for the U.S. Lacrosse National Team and is a member of the Michigan State University CHM Alumni Board.

His notable accomplishments, of which there are many, including serving as a consultant to the 2000 Sydney and 2008 Beijing Olympic Committees. He has been the principal investigator in numerous research grants totaling over $2 million. In addition, Dr. McKeag is involved with multiple, professional medical organizations in various capacities, ranging from board member to president. Dr. McKeag is further known for factual and informative presentations and continues to be highly sought after on the lecture circuit at state and national assemblies. He is also recognized as a named source and reference in national magazines and has won numerous awards in his field.
