Doris Christiane Schmitt

Doris C Schmitt studied pedagogy and psychology. She has completed further education in communication and motivational training. She worked as a freelance personnel consultant and finally started her own consulting business.

Today she has specialized in improving communication between physicians and cancer patients. She gives lectures for patients on how to deal with breast cancer therapy in German and English. In workshops and seminars she trains communication skills with Health Care Professionals in Europe. She has published several articles about doctor-patient-communication as a medical writer.

She realized the importance of adequate information and communication for cancer patients when she was diagnosed with cancer herself. Therefore she got involved in a large Breast Cancer Organization as a member of the board and Chairwoman for several years. Today she is supporting the German Breast Cancer Tumor Bank PATH, the scientific board of Brustkrebs Deutschland and the European Patient Academy on a voluntary basis.
