Doris Quinn, Ph.D., M.S.N., director, Process Improvement and Quality Education, is the new leader over all M. D. Anderson quality improvement education, including the Clinical Safety and Effectiveness program. She brings experience in quality education programs at both corporate and academic medical centers to cancer center.

Prior to joining the cancer center, Dr. Quinn spent 15 years with Vanderbilt University Medical School in quality improvement. Her most recent position was director of education and evaluation for graduate medical education. She has extensive education and experience in both teaching and applying quality improvement.

Dr. Quinn is co-developer of the Healthcare Matrix that is being used by many academic medical centers nationally and internationally to assess care using the Institute of Medicine (IOM) Aims and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Core Competencies for clinicians.

Previously, Dr. Quinn was director of customer knowledge and improvement for Hospital Corporation of America’s (HCA) Corporate Office where she worked with Paul Batalden, M.D., to design and implement HCA’s quality improvement program for its hospitals.
