Donna S. Thorson BS, MS, CPHQ

Dr. Donna S. Thorson, MS, CPHQ, is a Project Coordinator for Health Insight Nevada. Since joining Health Insight in 2001, Ms. Thorson has worked with providers and the community to improve healthcare for people with or at risk for chronic diseases. Her current work involves statewide initiatives improving health outcomes for residents in skilled nursing facilities and improving transitions of care to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations. As part of her work, Ms. Thorson convenes and facilitates collaborative groups to identify and implement evidence-based strategies that improve healthcare processes and systems related to clinical outcomes and quality measures, using human factors science to enhance the effectiveness of identified interventions.

Ms. Thorson has delivered education sessions and trainings to quality improvement professionals and healthcare providers in Utah, New Mexico, and Nevada, as well as nationally. She is a certified educator for INTERACT, a quality improvement program. As part of her commitment to healthcare quality, she became a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) in 2004 and maintains membership in the National Association for Healthcare Quality.
