Donna M. Plecha MD, FSBI

Donna M. Plecha, MD, is a nationally known expert in breast imaging who has received awards and honors for excellence in education and leadership including Top Doctors in America, Best Doctors in Cleveland, Castle Connolly Top Doctor, and Department of Radiology Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Plecha is a member of numerous professional societies including the Society of Breast Imaging, American College of Radiology, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. Dr. Plecha was instrumental in bringing Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3-D Mammography) to Northeast Ohio.

She is Division Chief of Breast Imaging at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Chair and Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She has authored many peer-reviewed publications, including a recent article in the Journal of American Medical Association on the efficacy of 3-D mammography on improving breast cancer screening. In addition, she has been invited to lecture nationally, and internationally, and has been interviewed on local and national news programs.

Dr. Plecha received her M.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship in Breast Imaging in the Department of Radiology, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
