Donna E Sweet, MD, AAHIVS, MACP, is Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, Director of the KU Wichita Internal Medicine Midtown and Ryan White Programs, and Principal Investigator of the Kansas AIDS Education and Training Center. She is a Master in the American College of Physicians (ACP), Chair Emeritus of the ACP Board of Regents, and AMA delegate for the ACP. Dr Sweet is certified as an HIV specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine of which she is the immediate past board Chair.

She is a past Co-Chair of the CDC HRSA AIDS Advisory Council (CHAC) and is the 2015 Chair of the Health HIV Board where she is leading a national effort with Health HIV to address the US HIV medical workforce shortage. She cares for approximately 1,200 patients with HIV in her clinic in Wichita and in 3 outreach clinics in rural Kansas in addition to a large general medicine practice of over 4,000 patients. Dr Sweet has travelled extensively nationally and internationally educating physicians about HIV care and treatment. For 7 years, she travelled twice a year to provide HIV education in the Russian Far East to physicians and other healthcare workers.
