Donna L. Arand, Ph.D., D.ABSM, is the Clinical Director of the Kettering Sleep Disorders Center in Dayton, OH and Research Assistant Professor at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She is board certified in sleep medicine and a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Arand received her PhD in experimental psychology from the University of Cincinnati. She subsequently served as the Director of the Sleep Disorders Center at UCLA. Dr. Arand also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). She is a site visitor for the AASM and she has served as chair of the AASM accreditation committee and been a member of various task forces for the Standards of Practice Committee. Dr. Arand is the president of the American Insomnia Association and editor of the "Sleepless Times" newsletter. She is on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine and a reviewer for other sleep journals. She is an active sleep researcher and her primary research interests include: insomnia, arousal, and daytime performance.
