Dong-seok Sohn DDS, PhD

Professor Dong-Seok Sohn is a Professor and Chairman, of the Department of Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Medicine, Catholic University of Daegu, Republic of Korea. He is the founding president of the World Academy of Ultrasonic Piezoelectric Bone Surgery (WAUPS). He is the Past President of the ICOI Asia-Pacific section and the founding president of ICOI Korea. He is the author of the books “Immediate Loading with Provisional Implants (Ji-Sung Publishing, 2002), Clinical Applications of Sintered Porous Surface Implants (Gun-Ja Publishing, 2002) and Innovative Implant Dentistry (Gun-Ja Publishing, 2003), Clinical Applications of Piezoelectric bone surgery (2008).

He is also the author of numerous book chapters, and he has published many clinical and animal studies in peer-reviewed national and international journals. He is a Recipient of the Charles English Award by Implant Dentistry which flagship journal of ICOI in 2007. He introduced Hydrodynamic Piezoelectric Internal Sinus elevation (HPISE), Sticky Bone, and Sohn’s Augmentation – New Tenting Abutment (SANTA). He serves on an editorial board in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
