Donald Trigg became Cerner’s president in February 2020. For more than 40 years, Cerner has worked at the intersection of healthcare and information technology. We create solutions that improve clinical, financial, and operational outcomes for hospitals, health systems, and public sector organizations worldwide. A Fortune 500 company, Cerner employs more than 25,000 associates across the globe. For almost two decades, Don has helped clients solve their most complex healthcare challenges. His leadership inside and outside of Cerner has focused on building world-class teams to create innovative solutions that elevate quality, reduce costs and better connect the patient into the care process. Don has general management, P&L, and operational responsibilities for Cerner’s business groups. These groups encompass Cerner’s foundational electronic medical record, which leads the industry in global market share. In addition, they include emerging growth businesses seeking to define and lead the provider network trend outside the hospital as well as advance the use of data as a force for positive change in healthcare.
He also leads Cerner’s Partnerships and Strategic Alliances group. During his time at Cerner, Don has held diverse leadership roles throughout the business. His responsibilities have ranged from executive vice president of Cerner’s Strategic Growth businesses to president of Cerner Health Ventures to managing director of the United Kingdom operations in London to the first-ever vice president of Cerner’s government practice. Outside of Cerner, Don has extensive experience scaling early-stage growth businesses in healthcare. From 2010-2012, he helped drive the rapid growth of natural language processing leader CodeRyte, culminating in its strategic acquisition by 3M in 2012. Don also has broad experience in the federal government. He spent more than a decade in Washington, D.C. Don worked in a variety of policy roles in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. He also spent four years working for George W. Bush on his 2000 presidential campaign in Austin, Texas, and his first term in office in Washington, D.C. Don earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. He sits on the board of St. Louis-based Lumeris, which provides industry-leading Medicare Advantage solutions to health systems.
