Dr. Donald J. Tindall is currently the Carl Rosen Professor of Urology and Biochemistry/Molecular Biology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Tindall's research interests are in the area of androgen function and the mechanisms by which androgens promote prostate cancer progression. He obtained a B.S. degree from the University of South Carolina in 1966, an M.S. degree from Clemson University in 1970, and his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Biochemistry. Between 1974 and 1976 he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Cell Biology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where he remained on the faculty until 1989, after which he moved his laboratory group to the Mayo Clinic. He is a member of several editorial boards and scientific peer-review committees. Dr. Tindall has over 240 publications in various journals including Science, PNAS, JNCI, JAMA, Cancer Research, and Oncogene. He has given numerous seminars throughout the country and abroad. He has served as a consultant for many foundations including the National Institutes of Health, the National Cancer Institute, the National Science Foundation, the American Institute for Cancer Research, and the Prostate Cancer Program Working Group for NCI.
