Don S. Schalch MD

Don Schalch, MD, emeritus professor, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, has been selected to receive the Clinical Sciences Emeritus Faculty Award from the Wisconsin Medical Alumni Association, given in recognition of "a clinical scientist who demonstrates long and effective service to the UW School of Medicine and Public Health in teaching and/or research or noteworthy administration, including program development."

Dr. Schalch joined the Department of Medicine in 1982 and served as chief of Endocrinology from 1982-1990. He had previously held faculty positions at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and the University of Colorado Medical Center, and visiting professorships at Erasmus University and the University of Zurich.
