Dominique BREMOND-GIGNAC, MD, PhD, is Professor of Ophthalmology Head of Ophthalmology Department with pediatric subspecialty at University Necker-Enfants malades Hospital and Paris V Rene Descartes University in Paris. She is Head of Paris V Orthoptic Department, affiliated to the CNRS FR3636 Research Unit, in binocular vision.
She graduated in pharmacology and statistics for her masters, also graduated in maxillo-facial surgery and wrote her PhD thesis in anatomy. Previously, Associate Professor of Anatomy at Paris 7 University and at Ophthalmology Department (Debre Pediatric Hospital), then Professor of Ophthalmology at University Hospital of Amiens and Picardie Jules Verne University. She is Head of OPHTARA Ocular Rare Disease Center affiliated to SENSGENE network, CLAIROP Research Clinical Center, she has participated as principal investigator in more than 35 clinical research studies, and has published over hundred international papers and contributed to numerous scientific meetings.
Also involved in major pediatric societies as executive member of WSPOS (World Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus) and Chair of NSPH (NeuroOphthalmology, Strabismus, Pediatric Ophthalmology and History) section at EVER (European Association for Vision and Eye Research). Her activity is distributed in clinical practice, teaching and research. She is involved in phenotype/genotype of rare diseases and especially in aniridia. Pr BREMONDGIGNAC is also Chair of Medical and Scientific Committee of GENIRIS Association and member of Aniridia Europe Association. Involved in management of the Ophthalmology department, her current practice includes pediatric anterior segment, strabismus and oculo-plastic surgery.
