Dirk Timmerman MD, PhD, FRCOG

Timmerman Dirk is Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at KU Leuven and Clinical head of benign gynaecology and gynaecological ultrasound at the University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium. His main interests are gynaecological ultrasound, early pregnancy and miscarriage, and detection and staging of gynaecological cancers.

He is founder and coordinator of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) collaborative group including more than 40 centres throughout the world. The IOTA group aims to develop new algorithms to detect ovarian cancer and for optimal care of adnexal tumors
