Diogo Araujo

Diogo Araujo has more than 15 years of experience in quality assurance and compliance and is a Global CAPA Manager at Bayer Healthcare, based in Newbury, UK. He has been with Bayer Healthcare since January 2014.

In his current role, Diogo is responsible for providing the direction of the CAPA strategy in pharma R&D through policy and standard setting, a harmonized CAPA Process and a CAPA tool; overseeing all pharma R&D CAPA initiatives in collaboration with the functions; planning and conduct of cross-functional CAPA Councils; providing CAPA training; and generating CAPA reports.

He started his career in 2000 when he joined Eurotrials – Scientific Consultants (CRO) working as a CRA in Phase II-IV Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases and Endocrinology clinical trials. Later he joined a Pfizer Local Office where he worked for six years as a Quality Standards Manager, a period in which he held different roles and responsibilities across the QA and Compliance activities. In 2008, he moved to Shire Pharmaceuticals initially as Global R&D Quality Assurance Manager and later as Associate Director, Global R&D Quality Assurance, where he was responsible for the Affiliates, License Partner and Distributors Audit Programmes, and as the R&D QA Product Lead for several products.
