Dr. Dina Ali, originally from Memphis, Tennessee, received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee in May 2016. Her practice areas of interest include critical care, infectious diseases, translational research, and academia, with a focus on curriculum development. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Ali is currently a member of the Information Technology and Recruitment committees. Dr. Ali is actively involved with the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, serving as a preceptor to fourth-year pharmacy students on rotations, facilitating small group discussions, and providing lectures. In order to improve as a teacher, she will complete the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program. Her current research is focused on the efficacy of de-escalating dexmedetomidine to oral clonidine for ICU sedation in MICU and Trauma/surgery ICU patients. Upon completion of her PGY1 residency.

Dr. Ali plans to pursue PGY2 specialty training in Critical Care. Ultimately, she plans to pursue a clinical specialist position within an academic medical center where she can integrate her clinical responsibilities with her passion for teaching and clinical research. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends, traveling to places near and far, cheering on the Memphis Grizzlies, and facilitating mandatory dance parties in the PGY1 office.
