Dr Dimitrios A. Lamprou is Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences appointed in August 2012 at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS). Dr Lamprou is also Co-Investigator at EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation (CMAC), is Leading the new Wolfson Foundation / Research Partnership Investment Fund (RPIF) "Pharmaceutical Surfaces Laboratory" within the national CMAC Centre based at the Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC), and is the Course Director of the MSc in Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (and co-ordinator of MSc modules). Before his current appointment, Dr Lamprou was an EPSRC postdoctoral fellow in Biomaterials and Drug Delivery Systems at SIPBS (2009-2012), and also Visiting Scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT; US) and at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece).
Dr Lamprou has experience of teaching in Higher Education, conducting research and securing funding. Dr Lamprou he is currently involved in a variety of industry projects and collaborates with academic partners within the UK and internationally, and is Committee Member at the United Kingdom and Ireland Controlled Release Society (UKICRS). He referees for journals (20+ Pharmaceutical and related), publishers and research funding bodies, and is external examiner for UK and International Institutions. Dr Lamprou has authored 35+ articles in high impact multidisciplinary journals, and 80+ poster and podium presentations at national and international conferences / Universities that includes 30+ invited talks, and has experience of supervising Postdoc's, 20+ Ph.D students and 30+ Master (MPharm, MPhil, MRes, MSc) level research projects
