Dietmar Thurnher PhD

Dietmar Thurnherwas born in 1967 in Lustenau / Vorarlberg and received his doctorate in 1994 to the doctor of total medicine at the University of Vienna. After working in the training of pharmaceutical consultants, he continued his professional career as a research assistant at the Vienna General Hospital, where in 1996 he took up the position of an assistant physician at the University Department of Otorhinolaryngology. From January 2001 until his appointment to the Medical University of Graz, he headed the research laboratory of the ENT Clinic and from 2002 was a member of the interdisciplinary tumor board for head and neck cancer at the Med Uni Vienna.

In 2003 he was awarded the teaching license in the field of ear, nose and throat medicine. In the summer of 2005, a one-year Fellowship "Surgical Head and Neck Oncology" of the American Head and Neck Society at the University of Toronto / Canada followed. In 2009, Dietmar Thurnher was appointed Deputy Head of the "Oncology Team" of the ENT Clinic. In 2010, he was appointed Head of the Experimental and Clinical Oncology of the General Otolaryngology Department of the CCC Vienna, as well as the appointment as Chief Medical Officer of the ENT Clinic. From summer 2011 until his appointment to Graz, Dietmar Thurnher was the Deputy Head of the Department of General ENT of Med Uni Vienna.
