Diego J Maselli, M.D., is an Associate Professor at UT Health San Antonio’s Long School of Medicine. Dr. Maselli’s research focuses on severe asthma, non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He collaborates with Texas Biomed on studies about host susceptibility to Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria that causes tuberculosis.

Dr. Maselli completed his medical training at the Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala before completing a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas in Houston and a fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases & Critical Care at UT Health San Antonio. In 2016, he founded the Severe Asthma Program at the University Health System in San Antonio. Dr. Maselli has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles.
