Dr. Togawa is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine. The Hamamatsu university is one of the international study sites of Adult Spinal Deformity (ASD). He spent 6 years in the Cleveland Clinic Spine Institute, Ohio, United States, as a fellow and adjunct staff. He is a principal investigator of the TOEI study in which more than 650 elderly volunteers have investigated their total spinopelvic alignment, musculoskeletal function, and quality of life. He also acts as an international deputy editor of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, American volume (JBJS Am).
