Diane was Born and raised in Ohio, Diane R. Baker, MD, earned a degree in microbiology from The Ohio State University in 1967. In 1971, she graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. At the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Baker finished a medical internship and began her dermatological training. She completed her training at Oregon Health & Science University in 1975. She spent two years as a researcher in the dermatology department before entering private practice.

She has been a member of the American Academy of Dermatology since 1976, serving as the president in 2007. Dr. Baker served as president of the American Board of Dermatology in 2003. She is the former dermatology delegate to the American Medical Association and has been nationally recognized by the Dermatology Foundation as Practitioner of the Year in 2010. Dr. Baker was certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology in 1975 and recertified in 2003. She has been in private practice in the Portland area for over 30 years, practicing Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, and Cosmetic Dermatology.
