Diane L. Dahm, M.D., specializes in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction outcomes in specific patient populations including skeletally immature patients, female patients, and older athletic patients. She also studies disorders of the patellofemoral joint from instability to arthritis; return to sports and other activities after knee arthroplasty; the impact of orthopedic pathology and surgery on physical fitness and exercise; shoulder instability in athletes; and knee injuries in Major League Baseball players. Her current research interests include topics related to surgical repair and reconstruction of the knee and shoulder, with a specific emphasis on sports-related injuries and surgery for patellofemoral instability and arthritis.

Dr. Dahm is ahead orthopedic surgeon for the Minnesota Timberwolves as well as a practicing physician at Mayo Clinic, where she is a professor of orthopedics. Dr. Dahm has authored two books on sports conditioning and fitness and has published over 100 research articles and book chapters on various orthopedic and sports medicine-related topics.
