Diana Barran is the Chief Executive at SafeLives, a national charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse. After a career in the City, Diana founded the charity (previously known as Caada) in 2005. While working for New Philanthropy Capital, she saw that domestic abuse was a huge, hidden and under-resourced problem that impacted severely on the lives of women and children in particular. SafeLives has transformed the response to domestic abuse, focussing on data, research, practice support and improved co-ordination between services to provide early, tailored support for victims, aiming wherever possible to keep victims and their children safe in their homes. Diana is also a Trustee at Comic Relief and Chairman of the Henry Smith Charity.
