Dharmesh Kapoor MD

Dharmesh S. Kapoor is a Consultant Urogynaecologist with over 25 years of experience as a specialist. Currently, he’s practicing at Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai. He is the only British-trained Subspecialist in Urogynaecology in India. Until recently, he was a Consultant Gynaecologist and Urogynaecologist at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, United Kingdom. He has trained extensively in England and the United States. He is an expert in the treatment of recurrent urinary infections in women, abdominopelvic pain, urinary urgency and incontinence, weak bladders, and urodynamic testing. He is the only qualified doctor in Mumbai to perform endo-anal ultrasounds for problems like bowel urgency and bowel incontinence. He is a specialist in the surgical treatment of prolapse of the vagina and uterus and has performed more than 1,000 pelvic floor and incontinence operations.

He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and served as an invited reviewer for the International Urogynecology Journal, the European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and the RCOG’s STRATOG learning program. After completing his MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the prestigious KEM Hospital, Mumbai, he trained in the UK. He achieved CCT in general Obstetrics & Gynaecology and additionally did a three-year subspecialty training in Urogynaecology at Plymouth with Dr. Robert Freeman (president IUGA) and in urology with Professors Paul Abrams and Marcus Drake at the world-famous Bristol Urological Institute. He previously did a one-year fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Florida He also trained at Croydon University Hospital as a Clinical Fellow in Urogynaecology with world-renowned experts in Perineal Trauma and Endoanal Ultrasonography.
