Dr. Dharmesh Kapoor is a Consultant Hepatologist at Global Hospitals, Hyderabad who is currently leading one of the largest liver transplant programs in South India spread across cities like Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. In addition to MBBS, Dr. Kapoor has achieved MD (General Medicine) and DM (Gastroenterology) degrees and sought advanced training at MRCP (UK).
Dr. Kapoor is a regular faculty at the annual scientific meetings of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), Indian Association for the Study of Liver (INASL) and Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) where he has delivered more than 100 lectures on a wide range of topics for the past many years. Apart from this he also is a certified tutor for the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine and an academic trainer for Diplomate National Board (DNB) program in Gastroenterology.
With an active participation in clinical and bench research, he has conducted numerous national surveys, pilot studies as well as randomized controlled trials till date. He has showcased his independent as well as collaborative research through presentations at conferences as well as publications in peer-reviewed journals. As the principal Transplant Hepatologist and Head of the Liver Intensive Therapy Unit (LITU) at Global Hospitals, Dr. Kapoor is at the helm of one of the largest deceased donor liver transplant (DDLT) program in the country.
