Devesh Vashishtha MD, MAS

Dr. Devesh Madhav Vashishtha, MD, MAS, is a family medicine physician at City Heights Family Health Center in San Diego, CA. He aspires to use policy to advance environmental justice and affordable access to comprehensive healthcare for all.

Devesh was born in New York City and grew up in Irvine, Orange County with his two younger brothers. He attended college and medical school at UC San Diego, where he majored in Political Science and became a part of the state and national political advocacy efforts for issues such as mandating paid sick leave for workers, controlling carbon emissions from power plants, and improving access to primary care. Devesh has received the Switzer and Pisacano fellowships for his leadership and policy work.

Devesh is an avid student of Vedanta, a Hindu philosophical tradition that presents a means for removing one’s sense of inadequacy. He is also a Carnatic Classical vocal musician and has performed across the US and Canada and India.
