Dennis Jerome Matthews, MD, Professor, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Aurora, Colorado; Fischahs Endowed Chair in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine, Children's Hospital Colorado Rehabilitation Center, Aurora, Colorado. Dr. Matthews's research interest includes the functional outcomes of these congenital and acquired disorders and the impact on their ability to participate in the community. Dr. Matthews has written and lectured extensively on the Rehabilitation Management of Children and Adolescents. He is currently funded through grants from NIDRR, MDA, CDC, and NIH. Dr. Matthews is active in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrist, International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, and the Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. He is the past Chairman of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Matthews is the 2014 recipient of the Gabriella Molnar Lifetime Achievement Award for Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.
